Session 606 - “Have You Ever Seen A Dream’s Ghost?”

About a repetitious dream. I always wake and find myself questioning whether or not it was real. Sometimes I dive back into the dream. Have you ever seen a dream’s ghost? Visions of the dream when you close your eyes, or even just a glimpse in your subconscious. This other world beckons me, tortures me, and mesmerizes me.

Hey friends!
Here’s a free treat to everyone who’s stuck by us since the beginning. Our third single off of our May 19th release (THIS IS WHAT THEY CALL SURGERY) is up in our player. Many of you who’ve known us for over a year now know that we posted a demo of this tune a few months into the start of the band. The chorus of this song was the first I’d written [for TFS] and what bought me the ticket into being The Flatline Symphony’s lead singer. It’s called “This Year’s Cliche” and if any of you know what it feels like to be loved and chucked, then this song is for you! Share this song with all of your friends, family, pets, or just random strangers!

Love,
AntMas

P.S. My homie Josh Roseboro from the band A Dream Worth Dying For lent his brutal screams to this tune. ENJOY.

MC Lars + Weerd Science - “How to Be an Indie Rapper”

The first Weerd Science & MC Lars collaboration!!!  It features Gangstroph The Baptist (intro) as well as John Glenn and Erik Flora from The City Never Sleeps (chorus).  The song was mixed by Chris Bittner aka CJB, and was produced by Dave “Wavis” Parker (also of TCNS - he composed the music too).

“It is.” and “A single human hand.” from Frank McGinnis’ forthcoming solo DIY record, Travels

“Ghost Town Reckoning” was recorded at Applehead Recording and Production in 2003. Divest (at that time) was Morgan Y. Evans, Dave Parker, Kurt Brown, Mike McCoy, and David Bodie. These recordings were produced by Dr. Know (Bad Brains), Danny Ilchuck, Michael Birnbaum, and Chris Bittner. The full album was never properly released, however, a 7” vinyl single was pressed up (“Brand New Lie” / “Open Door Revelation”).

You can catch a glimpse of the single on the turntables in the Weerd Science “Conspiracy Theories w/Out Mel Gibson” music video… which was produced by the same dude who designed the “Ghost Town Reckoning” album cover- Chris Rahm (Rustwerx).

This specific version of GTR was remastered by Nate Kelley (a former member of Divest / original drummer of Shabutie) in 2009.

clip from Coheed and Cambria’s midnight album release show at Crash Mansion in New York City for their Columbia debut, “Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star IV, Volume I: From Fear Through The Eyes of Madness” on September 20th, 2005. IscariotMoon of Cobalt and Calcium recorded the entire set on his digital camera, and posted it to share with those who could not make it.

Earlier that day the band had done a signing and acoustic performance out on Long Island at Looney Tunes. It was a long day, but the band didn’t show any signs of slowing down. The animated shorts (which were originally aired on MTV) looped on the screens around the venue. The love at Crash Mansion was so widespread that the crowd sat on the floor for this very special, highly intimate performance!

Coheed and Cambria (which was Claudio Sanchez, Travis Stever, Mic Todd, and Josh Eppard) performed:

1. “Welcome Home”
2. “A Favor House Atlantic”
3. “Wake Up”
4. “Final Cut” (the very first live attempt at performing this song full-band acoustic)

Codeseven Reunion Tour 2010 Video by Jeff of Shine Custom Drums

Tell me this isn’t bone-chilling!  It’s beyond wonderful to see Codeseven back at it again!  Since the epic tour with Circa Survive, Dredg, and Animals As Leaders has concluded… The question remains…  will Codeseven record their 6th album?  Last I heard, Eric Weyer told Amy Sciarretto of Noisecreep that the tour would determine the extent of their reunion.  I sure hope the band was convinced to make new music for us!  I’m so intrigued to hear how Adair, Sundrone, and Telescreen have effected the growth of songwriting from Dancing Echoes/Dead Sounds.  I’m also wondering if they’re remaining on Equal Vision Records, and if they do decide to go in the studio…  which studio they’ll be going to.  I think it would be real cool for them to be removed from their Winston-Salem, NC element and spend a winter in Woodstock, NY!  Chris Bittner and Michael Birnbaum of Applehead Recording and Production did an incredible job on the last Codeseven album.  I just can’t wait to hear which direction they’ll go…  and see their new DIY web stuff!  And it would be cool to finally see them share a stage with 3, since I missed out on that.
