On holiday break after a steady year of recording, touring, releasing, and touring some more with Universal-Motown’s Terrible Things, Weerd Science hopped on twitter and proclaimed that he NEEDED to record some hip-hop. Josh explained that his DJ, Dirty Ern, also fell into some free time and so the two walled-up in Dirty’s basement apartment to bring an old concept to life. He kept followers updated as he wrote and recorded 2 new songs right on the spot, which they posted up for free download immediately. They refer to the session as, “Weekend At Dirty’s” and warned that it will happen again.

If you’re not on twitter, looks like now’s a great time to join up! Josh Eppard has been on a tweeting frenzy all day, venting about his need to record some hip-hop. He even hooked up with DJ Dirty Ern and they’re working on a song right now! The last time we heard from this duo was back in September when they recorded a collaboration with MC Lars. Josh just tweeted that MC Lars is actually putting out Sick Kids, on Horris Records. Hopefully we’ll hear his tracks that he did with Flannel Channel this year too! Anyway, Weerd Science is looking for some fun words to use in the song he’s working on tonight. If you’d like to participate, tweet your word to @realJoshEppard. Heading to Philly to try out a new song at @WillNoon’s studio. Something about the snow made me write a ton of new riffs and now I’m too impatient to not hear how they sound. Should be a sweet day hanging out with one of my oldest friends. I’ll report back

Last night Terrible Things tweeted that they were on uStream. It looks like they’re starting a show on there and will be streaming at various times to interact with fans (there’s a chat room along with the video stream on that website). Whenever the group goes on air they will tweet/update facebook & myspace statuses, so keep an eye out!
