CNN: Stanford-educated rapper embraces piracy
Brooklyn rapper MC Lars has embraced piracy and gathered quite a following - thanks in large part to Twitter and Facebook.
Alternative Press:
It was just about a decade ago when JOSH EPPARD rose to fame alongside his friends from Kingston, New York, as the original drummer for COHEED AND CAMBRIA. As the band began receiving notoriety for their experimental epic rock, Eppard released a hip-hop album under the name WEERD SCIENCE—the moniker he had been using as an emcee since he was a teenager. But struggles with drug addiction pushed Eppard out of Coheed and away from music for years before finally joining up with Fred Mascherino and Andy Jackson in TERRIBLE THINGS. Now nearly two years sober, Eppard has joined up with likeminded MC LARS to finally release the follow-up to Weerd Science’s 2005 debut, Friends & Nervous Breakdowns. Sick Kids will finally be released May 17 on MC Lars’ label, Horris Records, and in this exclusive interview, MC Lars finds out exactly what took so long. Wanna pitch in? You can help out Weerd Science by donating to the just-launched Kickstarter page.

Last week I got the chance to interview Circa Survive’s front man, Anthony Green.
While I was researching him through other interviews, I came across this video (which, being a huge fan I had seen before) of the members of The Fall of Troy each asking Green a question.
Synthesis.net had the awesome idea to have bands ask questions of other bands, and get the responses on video. Unfortunately Green was unable to give them answers due to him being under the weather for their scheduled interview.
So I took advantage of having Green on the phone and finally got the answers to these hard hitting questions. :]
—
Thomas Erak: Anthony, I want to know if you remember the first time that we met — where it was, and what happened when I met you. Because I remember so if I see this and you don’t remember, I’m going to be giving you a call.
Green: I don’t remember that. But I have seen him since then, and I think he told me. But I still can’t remember what he told me … it was probably something ridiculous.
Andrew Forsman: Anthony, I love you, you know that. I love you in a dress, and I don’t know if you’re still doing it or not but you should be, so please elaborate on that subject.
Green: I think that just whenever it hits me that it feels right I just sometimes throw a dress on and go up on stage to change it up and keep things exciting. Getting dressed up in any sort of fashion like that, whether you’re in a dress or whether you’re wearing some sort of costume, always makes for a really interesting show, always changes the energy. I think there is a lot of really creepy feminine energy that goes along with our music so we make it visually creepily feminine, then it’s cooler.
Frank Ene: Anthony – do you like my dreads? You better.
Green: I do like his dreads.

My full interview with Anthony Green will be up on recaprelapse.tumblr.com very soon!
